Our School
The Fort Meadow Early Childhood Center provides a nurturing learning environment that is dedicated to enhancing the developmental needs of children of all abilities through cooperative interactions with families, teachers and staff.
Our school offers
a language based,
integrated preschool program for students
ranging in age from 3-5 years
. Morning and afternoon sessions run 2.5 hours a day, 9:00-11:30 and 12:30-3:00. Students who are 3 years old attend class 4 days per week, Monday through Thursday. Pre-Kindergarten students attend class 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. Currently Fort Meadow has

preschool
classrooms.
Each class has a maximum enrollment of 15 children. Classes consist of 8 children who are typically developing and 7 children who have diagnosed special learning needs. Fort Meadow's developmentally appropriate curriculum allows children to develop and learn at their own pace. All classes are taught by a highly qualified, certified special education teachers and classroom paraprofessionals. Licensed service providers include speech and language pathologists, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, a school adjustment counselor,
a school psychologist
and
an ABA certified autism consultant/behaviorist.
The philosophy of the Westfield Public Schools Early Childhood Program is:
To provide a supportive, nurturing environment with developmentally appropriate activities and equipment to meet the general needs and varying learning styles of 3-5 year old children in order to foster their social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development.
To encourage ongoing communication and interaction between school and parents.
To provide a variety of supportive services and resource material to young children and their families.
